First Post!

Greetings! 21 year old college student here.

My first weblog post ever. I guess I'm a little behind on the whole social networking (signed up for Facebook today) and weblogging fad. I've been trying to decide which weblog service to use (e.g. xanga, livejournal, etc.) but I settled for weblogger because my friend said it's more well-rounded, etc.

I figured that I should try to keep some kind of working personal journal to just write down my thoughts and feelings. I also want to write down things I did on a certain day. It's nice to look back at your life and reflect on past experiences (ahhh, reminisce.....). I don't think my brain can permanently record all my life's experiences so the only mediums I have to help me remember them are pictures, videos, and a journal. Also, writing down your thoughts is therapeutic, according to my personal growth teacher. I hope to be more aware of myself as I read my old entries and self-reflect.

I would rather type a journal entry than write one down because it's easier and faster to type a journal and it saves me from straining my wrist (i.e. carpal tunnel, etc.) A down side I can think about is that my journal is intangible, forever stuck in online web space. I'm also trippin' because I'm aware that this journal can be accessed despite the privacy control I have over it. That's why I feel like I can't just type freely like I would in a private-private journal and I actually have to choose my words carefully. This journal is like a confidant for me and it would suck if it was used against me (i.e. blackmail) or basically ruin my reputation. Yes, I know....I'm self-conscious and paranoid like that.

I always feel like I never have time to do everything but I want to try to make this journal a habit, along with studying, working, gym, and social life. I'm still trying to improve my time management and find balance in life.

Looks like my first post is getting too long....I'll stop here and let the continuation of time do the rest.
